We have evolved  so much beyond our initial hopes and expectations that our staff numbers have dramatically increased from an initial TWO part-time Support Staff in 2006, to over FORTY currently on our payroll.

Rather than just an exhaustive list of names and individual photos we thought it would be more in keeping to reflect how our Support Staff demonstrate their commitment and enjoyment of being an invaluable part of our team. Their hard work and dedication is very much appreciated by our Trustees, Management Team, Professionals and above all our Next Steppers and their Parents.

Below is a selection of comments written by our Support Staff reflecting on their involvement with The Next Step Trust:

Sarah

“I worked as bank staff at Next Step for two years during the holidays from my job in an Autism provision. I loved Next Step so much that I started working here permanently and have done for the last two years. Next Step is a fantastic place to be. We see our young adults reach their full potential and see the pride in their faces when they experience activities and achieve their goals. Working at Next Step is very emotional. We are so proud to see our young adults achieve above and beyond everything we hoped”.

Michelle

“I have worked at Next Step Trust for five years and really enjoy it. I believe we are making a difference to our young adults’ lives by introducing them to new activities and giving them confidence. To see their big smiles means the world to me. I can go home feeling good”.

Joanne

“I have worked for Next Step for twelve months. It’s a joy to come to the centre and support such fantastic people every day. Fun Factor!!”.

Rachael

“I’ve worked at Next Step Trust for three years now. After working in the care setting with another company I can honestly say Next Step Trust is a special place to work. The Next Steppers make it a privilege to be here”.

Paula

“I have worked for Next Step for seven months. What I enjoy is the variety of activities that are available to the Next Steppers and the caring nature of the staff”.

Shayda

“I have been working at Next Step Trust for just over a year and I think it’s a wonderful place to work. We all make a very good team and everybody is very supportive of each other”.

Vicky

“I have been supporting Next Steppers for seven months and it has been fantastic and life changing. Supporting people to have amazing positive experiences including canoeing, climbing, hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, sailing, horse riding, and Skylight. Also supporting people into their community, not only having a positive presence but being able to access sporting facilities and participate in developing social skills and relationships with others”.
