Breakthrough Of The Year Award
We are thrilled and honoured to have been awarded “Breakthrough of the Year” at the 2017 Community Spirit Awards. The award was presented to us in recognition of the Respite Facility we have recently established in Ripponden which aims to extend the reach of our charity and broaden the range of services we offer to our community.
The event was hosted by The Community Foundation for Calderdale whose CEO Steve Duncan said “It is our pleasure to be here tonight to celebrate those who selflessly dedicate themselves to local causes, who put others before themselves and who make things happen”.
What the Judges said: “The panel were impressed by the courage and vision of this charity with this innovative development enabling them to expand their provision and meet the growing needs of both the individuals they support and their families, as they become older”.
The award itself is a unique piece of eye-catching sculpture created by local artist and blacksmith Rudi Holmes. The sponsors of the individual category are Elcons Employment Law Consultants.
